The award recognizes Ariana’s musical accomplishments, but it also recognizes how she uses her platform to give a voice to those that do not. She has taken part in March for Our Lives in support of reforming gun control laws. The singer has used her platform to bring awareness to mental health, gender equality, LGBTQ rights, and movements like Black Lives Matter.

Congratulations to Ari. This is very much deserved.
