‘Orange is the New Black’ to End in 2019 with Its Seventh Season

After over five years, the Netflix comedy-drama series will shut down for good as Orange is the New Black will conclude with its seventh and final season which is set to air in 2019.

The official Orange is the New Black Twitter account posted a video on October 17 with the cast sharing the news of show’s ending to the world. In the video, the cast shares their gratitude towards the series and the fans of the show. Included in the video are Danielle Brooks, Adrienne C. Moore, Taylor Schilling, Laura Prepon, Julie Lake, Kate Mulgrew, Dascha Polanco, Uzo Aduba, Selenis Leyva, Taryn Manning, and Natasha Lyonne.

Orange is the New Black was one of the earliest original series released by Netflix back in 2013, the first being House of Cards which was released earlier that year.

Orange is the New Black launched the careers of several of the actresses in the cast such as Schilling, Aduba, Brooks, and Laverne Cox.

Orange is the New Black also went on to achieve critical acclaim and receive multiple Emmy wins and nominations. The series was lauded for its characters, the acting, the humor, and the drama.
