Maddie Ziegler Joins Instagram’s Anti-Bullying Campaign
The 16-year old dancer is teaming up with the photo-sharing platform to spread kindness.
In honor of National Bullying Prevention Month, Instagram has implemented several changes to make the platform a more welcoming place for everyone. One of these new developments is the Kindness Camera Effect, a new filter created in collaboration with Maddie Ziegler.
Ziegler announced her participation in the campaign with this photo, in which she poses smiling with the filter:
Maddie’s followers will have the feature available on their Instagram pages. When using the filter, the app will offer the option to tag friends. The goal of the campaign is to start an outpouring of love and support among Instagram users.

I’m glad that Instagram is committed to stopping bullies with tools like the bullying comment and photo filters. I’m proud of their commitment, and I’m also proud of the new AR effect I helped work on that spreads kindness. Whether you’re shouting out your BFF or a person you admire, I hope this new Instagram feature is a force for positivity all over the world.” Today, we’re announcing new tools to help combat bullying on Instagram.
