Emma Roberts is hitting the ice. Netflix has officially ordered 10 episodes for a new series called Spinning Out starring Emma Roberts. The storyline followed Kat Baker, an “up-and-coming, high-level single skater” who must give up her Olympic dream after taking a nasty fall on the ice. The synopsis explains, “When Kat seizes an opportunity to continue her career as a pair skater with a talented bad-boy partner, she risks exposing a fiercely-kept secret that could unravel her entire life. On and off the ice, Kat and her new partner will face daunting odds, injury to body and soul, financial sacrifice, and even potential mental breakdown on their way to realizing their Olympic dream.”

The series was created by Samantha Stratton, who will also executive produce along with Lara Olsen, and Tory Tunnel and Joby Harold of Safehouse Pictures, with Matt Schwartz of Safehouse co-executive producing. Interestingly, Stratton is a former competitive figure skater herself. Her most recent projects include the critically-acclaimed series “Mr. Mercedes, as well as her previous work with “The Arrangement,” “Search Party,” “State of Affairs,” and “Star-Crossed.”

Roberts is currently resurfacing as Madison Montgomery in this season of American Horror Story. She’s also starred in Ryan Murphy’s Scream Queens and has recently appeared in films like We’re The MillersPalo Alto, and Little Italy.
