Disney Releases ‘Aladdin’ Teaser Trailer

Disney

Disney teases longtime Aladdin fans with a taste of the live action film by taking them back to the Cave of Wonders.

The camera pans out to a desert and then a city in the desert, most likely Agrabah, as a singular flying bird begins to coast through the desert. This bird could possibly be Iago, the loud and cranky talking parrot and companion of the sorcerer, Jafar.

An orchestral score of “Arabian Nights” plays in the background as it transitions to night and the bird flies to the exterior of the enchanted Cave of Wonders. The Cave of Wonders’ gravely voice booms out as a man walks through the cave’s mouth.

“Only one may enter here.” The Cave of Wonders speaks. “One whose worth lies far within, the diamond in the rough.”

Treasures and gold glisten within the cavern as an orchestral version of “Friend Like Me” begins to play. The trailer then closes with the official first look at Mena Massoud as Aladdin as he slowly and cautiously reaches out for the Genie’s magic lamp on its pedestal.

The release of the teaser trailer for Disney’s live-action adaptation of Aladdin follows the previous release of the teaser poster posted by Will Smith.

Will Smith had first released the official teaser poster for Aladdin on Instagram on October 10.

Disney has then released the teaser poster on their social media accounts and confirmed that Aladdin would be released on May 24, 2019.

The company conglomerate also announced that something else relating to Aladdin would be released the next day, which turned out to be the teaser trailer.
