Issa Rae to Star in the Romantic Comedy Film ‘American Princess’
Get ready to see Issa Rae fall in love in this upcoming romantic-comedy film.
The Hollywood Reporter was the first to report the story on how the co-creator and star of HBO’s Insecure will lead the film.
The Hollywood Reporter also briefly revealed a little bit of the plot of American Princess: “The film centers on an American woman (Rae) who moves to London, where she’s drawn into a world of wealth and high society and falls in love in a very unexpected way. ”

The film will be directed by Stella Meghie. She had directed the film adaptation of Everything, Everything starring Amanda Steinberg.
The film will be produced by Paul Feig, who has also recently directed and produced A Simple Favor starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively. Brendan O’Brien will also act as producer for the film.
The script for American Princess will also be written by Amy Aniobi, who works as a co-producer and a writer on Insecure as well.
Rae can be currently seen in the film The Hate U Give starring Amanda Steinberg and Insecure on HBO with a fourth season recently announced in September.
