Will Smith Drops ‘Aladdin’ Teaser Poster
Will Smith had first released the teaser movie poster for the upcoming live-action adaptation of Aladdin on his Instagram on October 10, 2018.
You will see Smith playing the fast-talking and lovable Genie in the future film. The wish-granting entity Genie was made iconic by the late comedian Robin Williams in the 1992 animated feature.
The teaser poster only displays The Genie’s lamp with the tagline, “Choose wisely.” The poster also revealed that May would be the release date for the film.
In the caption of his Instagram post, Smith had written: “LEMME OUT!! 🧞 Can’t wait for y’all to see Me BLUE! :-)”
Smith will star in the film amongst a talented cast with Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine, and Marwan Kenzari as Jafar.
Expect to hear all the classic songs from the original film, such as “One Jump Ahead” and “A Whole New World,” along with new songs co-written between the original Aladdin-songwriter Alan Menken and the songwriting duo Pasek and Paul, who have written songs for the films La La Land and The Greatest Showman.
According to Disney, Aladdin will be released in theaters on May 24, 2019. A first look at Aladdin will also be released to the public tomorrow October 11.
