Netflix to Develop ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ Films + Series

Netflix announced that The Chronicles of Narnia movie and series is in the works.

According to a press release by the streaming service, Netflix plans to build a cinematic universe involving all of the books that use film and television-similar to the Star Wars franchise.

“It is wonderful to know that folks from all over are looking forward to seeing more of Narnia and that the advances in production and distribution technology have made it possible for us to make Narnian adventures come to life all over the world,” said stepson of C.S Lewis, Douglas Gresham, in a statement released by Netflix.

While unclear of how many productions are in the works for the series, we are excited to see a more in-depth view of the Narnian world. All of the projects will be produced by Netflix and Entertainment One, alongside Douglas Gresham and Vincent Sieber as executive producers for both films and television series.

“eOne and I are excited to be collaborating with The C.S. Lewis Company and Netflix who have the capacity to translate the Narnia universe into both stellar feature-length and episodic programming. We cannot wait to get started on the multiple productions we hope to undertake.” Mark Gordon, eOne’s President said in the Netflix press release.

We are cannot wait to see these classic fantasy novels come back to life once again.
