BTS Becomes First K-Pop Group to Speak at the United Nations

In an address to the General Assembly this week, BTS became the first K-Pop group to speak at the United Nations. The group’s leader, Kim “RM” Nam-joon, talked about the importance of pursuing your goals and not giving in to peer pressure. In his speech, he outlined the struggles he faced when pursuing a career as a musician, and how his persistence helped him achieve his goals:

BTS’ speech at the meeting coincided with the launch of “Generation Unlimited”, a program whose goal is to educate the youth and make young people feel empowered.
