YouTuber Jenn Im Sends a Heartfelt Message to Every Teenager Who’s Never Felt Good Enough
In honor of her 28th birthday, our favorite YouTuber/style icon Jenn Im made a video addressing her teenage self, letting her know that everything will be okay. Im created her fashion/beauty YouTube channel in 2010, and since then has accumulated over 2.25 million subscribers and 1.7 million followers on Instagram.
To celebrate her coming of age, she posted a unique video on her channel, where she reflected on her diary entries from when she was in high school.
She begins the video by saying, “As a gift to myself, I thought I’d chat to my teenage self and let her know that her feelings are valid and that everything’s going to be okay.” And within the video, she touches on topics like self-perception, “wasted” love, jealousy, deep connection, self-identity, and purpose. What makes this video so special is physically seeing just how much she’s grown as an influencer, and also as a human being. Not only do teenagers resonate with this video, but all young woman who felt like this at some point in their life. It’s reassuring to know that how we feel, especially during critical growing periods like high school, does not define who we are.
