HBO Announces ‘The Time Traveler’s Wife’ Series

Twitter

In a press release, HBO announced plans for their new series based on the novel The Time Traveler’s Wife.

For those that haven’t read Audrey Niffenegger’s novel, the story follows Clare and Henry as they navigate a marriage and raising a family. There is one problem though, Henry travels through time at random.

The company produces with Warner Bros. Television, which owns rights to the title. While a movie adaptation of the same name released in 2009, starring Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana, this series wants their relationship more in-depth and more intricately. Executive producer and writer Steven Moffat expressed his love of the novel, and the honor it is to be able to adapt it in long-form television, saying “it’s a dream come true.”

We couldn’t think of a more perfect person than Moffat to take on this project. With credits from shows like Dr. Who, we are excited to see his time travel writing skills transfer from that show to this one. Not to mention, think of all the Dr. Who references and jokes that could come our way.

While we don’t have much information on the show as of right now, we are excited to see the show come together in the next several months.
