The hit comedy sitcom about the detectives of the 99th Precinct will add five more episodes to their upcoming season roster thanks to NBC.

NBC had originally ordered thirteen episodes for the sixth season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine after they picked up the show from FOX, who had originally canceled it after five seasons on its network.

The cast of Brooklyn Nine-Nine was eager to share their excitement of the news through social media.

Andy Samberg, who plays the jokester and lax Detective Jake Peralta, had posted a hilarious selfie of himself in a blonde wig on both Instagram and Twitter. In the caption Samberg wrote, “NBC added 5 More Eps to Season 6 of B99, let’s party!!”

The cast and crew of Brooklyn Nine-Nine had also apparently not heard of the news of the season extension until the news came out, so they were as surprised as everyone else! On Instagram Joe Lo Truglio, who plays the loveable Detective Charles Boyle, had shared that “none of us saw this coming and the cast is WhatsApp-ing on our chain like crazy. WE’RE STOKED (is that still a thing?) Very happy to file this report. Thank you @nbc.”

The sixth of Brooklyn Nine-Nine is slated to air next year on NBC as part of NBC’s 2018-2019 midseason lineup.
