Teyana Taylor Salutes Colin Kaepernick
Teyana Taylor is standing behind Colin Kaepernick.
Earlier this week, Nike released an ad announcing Colin Kaepernick as the new face of the brand. Nike also announced that the Colin Kaepernick ad would play during the NFL season opener. The ad caused controversy among people who conveniently refused to listen to Colin’s “take a knee” message during the time that NFL games played the national anthem, protesting against discrimination in America. They also do not seem to care about why Colin is protesting. Nike has definitely taken a side on this debate with Colin as the center of their new commercial.

Colin Kaepernick is protesting police brutality, not the flag. It is his right to protest an issue that mainly affects the Black community. There is nothing wrong with using your platform to be the voice for people who do not have one.
Teyana Taylor paid tribute to Colin on the KTSE tour. The singer posted a video of the crowd saluting Colin.
“We stand with you @kaepernick7. We honor your boldness to take a “stand” & KNEEL even if it meant sacrificing EVERYTHING!! We appreciate you & will always. Keep That Same Energy! This includes my baby girl as she kneeled & celebrated you as well, I feel it’s important for our children to know the importance of standing up for what they believe in & fighting for what’s right.”
Colin Kaepernick is on the right side of history. Like Teyana mentioned, it is important for future generations to stand up for themselves during times of inequality.
