The overwhelmingly popular K-Pop group is set to perform their song, “Idol,” Wednesday, September 12th, 2018 during America’s Got Talent.

America’s Got Talent host Tyra Banks had been campaigning for BTS to appear on the reality competition show since late August. She had been a passionate fan of BTS and had previously met them back in May for the 2018 Billboard Music Awards. On her Instagram, Banks had said that the experience of “Meeting BTS is… Better Than Smizing 👀”

Banks had then wanted to reunite with BTS after she heard that BTS was coming to Los Angeles for their third worldwide tour “Love Yourself”, possibly through America’s Got Talent. The following week Banks sent out a tweet asking for BTS’s fanbase, dubbed ‘BTSarmy’, to get BTS to appear on the show through retweeting her tweet.

Banks had then teased the announcement of BTS’s special appearance on America’s Got Talent on her Twitter on September 5th, 2018. In her tweet Banks had written: “Hey #BTSarmy, turn on @AGT on @NBC and you could hear a special announcement this hour. #BTSonAGT 💛” The news was later officially announced during the show’s airing that Wednesday.

Banks had then shared her own excitement of BTS’s guest appearance on her Twitter.

BTS had just arrived in Los Angeles on September 5th for the “Love Yourself” tour. They will continue to tour across both the United States and Canada for the North America leg of the tour until their last stop on October 6th in New York City.

You can catch America’s Got Talent live on NBC.
