Lebron James’ New Show ‘Shut Up and Dribble’
Lebron James is producing a show about sports and politics called, “Shut Up and Dribble”.The title comes from Journalist Laura Ingraham who told basketball champion, Lebron James, to do so after he added to a discussion about politics.
She also referred to him as,”someone who gets paid $100 million a year to bounce a ball.” The tone and implications of her statements were distasteful, and to a lot of people also racist.
Laura also used the words “barely intelligible” and “ungrammatical” on her Fox News program The Ingraham Angle to describe Lebron’s comments on the current political climate, with a focus on President Donald Trump.
Lebron responding in say that despite it being distasteful it also created more awareness. But like the champion, he is he clapped back even harder. Laura’s comments are also what fueled the ‘More Than An Athlete” hashtag.
He will be executive producer for a three-part Showtime docuseries offering “a powerful inside look at the changing role of athletes in our fraught cultural and political environment.”
