Cody Simpson & The Tide Come Out With ‘Underwater’
Cody Simpson & The Tide are rocking it with their single, “Underwater.”
Cody Simpson began posting covers on YouTube in 2009. He worked with Atlantic Records at the young age of 13 and creating pop music. Following the release of his independent album Free in 2015, Cody Simpson decided to form a new band, Cody Simpson & The Tide in 2017.
His style matured from a bright, bubblegum-pop to the acoustic rock sound he does now. Together, he and his band released their EP Wave One with summer, rock, and beach influences. The Tide represents Cody more than his label did: “The reason behind the name was I wanted this body of work to be an audio replication of what the Tide is as an element of nature. I had so many revelatory experiences. I wanted to be an exemplar of the Tide’s flow…music is the best vehicle to do so.”

The video for “Underwater” is directed by Taylor Curran and includes footage of Simpson playing his guitar in front of a blue screen. Interspersed with Simpson are clips of serene and beautiful underwater visuals of a couple dancing. Check it out below.
