Stephen King Blasts Trump with Literary Quote

The present terror of US foreign relations is not lost on this internationally famous horror author.

King implemented the last line of Orwell’s classic allegory Animal Farm in his most recent dig at the President. “George Orwell on Trump and Putin, in 1945: “The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which,” he tweeted.

In the context of the novel, the sentence conclusively sums up the dynamic between the animals on the farm who were meant to be equals, until the pigs contrived an oligarchy in which they became just as bad as the humans they aimed to replace.

King likens Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to the pigs for their very same power-hungry nature as a result of the relationship that they very publically displayed at the Russia-US Summit in Helsinki.

A staunch critic of Trump, King has previously taken jabs at him on Twitter in the past as well; most notably in October 2016 when he described the President’s then-candidacy as a horror story he may have penned himself.
