New Trailer for ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Highlights Freddie Mercury’s Sexuality

Many were a bit confused upon viewing the original trailer for Bohemian Rhapsody.

It almost seemed as if the studio tried to straight-wash the image they were projecting of Freddie Mercury to give the biopic a less controversial look when the reality of the frontman’s identity is no such secret.

Regardless, the new trailer for the movie is out and it is here to stay. We get a quick synopsis of Queen’s rise to stardom, but more specifically, a glimpse at the dynamic that Freddie Mercury catalyzed within the group.

In one scene, a band member makes a violent, dramatic movement before Mercury remarks, “Roger, there’s only room in this band for one hysterical queen,”–a clear nod to the singer’s sexuality that was missing from the original trailer.

In another scene, we see a hunky man approaching Mercury lustfully as he sits at his piano while a recording of a reporter questioning him about his personal life plays over the frame. He simply replies: “What more do you need to know? I make music.”

“Look up to the skies and see…” New trailer coming soon. #BohemianRhapsody

There is no word as to how much time the film will lend to Freddie Mercury’s AIDS diagnosis, of which the public was aware only a day prior to his death, but one thing is for sure; Bohemian Rhapsody is looking like a royal blockbuster centered around and fit for a Queen.
