Ariel Winter Deletes Her Twitter
The Modern Family star is taking a break from the social media app in the wake of some unwanted attention.
Ariel Winter is no stranger to the limelight. Ever since the debut of the hit ABC sitcom, she’s been the subject of spirited public interest.
However, as time has passed and she’s grown into a young woman, this attention has become more intrusive and predatory. It has become so unbearable for the 20-year-old that she has decided to ditch her phone for, we hope, more positive reinforcement.
The star’s rep explained, “Ariel has taken a break from Twitter and engaging with commenters on her other platforms because of the constant negativity she experiences. She needs a moment to breathe and enjoy herself without judgment.”
The mention of this type of negativity affecting Winter is no news to her many followers. In September 2017 she vented on social media, “I’m not trying to show you my a** in shorts when I go to the grocery store. I’m trying to live my life.”
Fortunately, the young star has the support of family, fans, and her on-screen big sister, Sarah Hyland, who condemned those making inappropriate comments on Ariel’s picture last week. Hyland responded to the photo below, “To all the pervs commenting on this post? GET OFFLINE AND GET BACK TO YOUR BLOWUP DOLL YA CREEPS!”
