Miss World 2000 wants you to know that you really are beautiful just the way you are.

Priyanka Chopra is the featured face of Allure magazine’s summer digital cover–for which she sports minimal makeup and natural hair–and she had some inspiring words to share about being confident in your own skin in a Youtube video for the outlet.

“We’ve always been told that only one of us can win and only the best one will get the cutest boy and only the best one will get the job, that we spent so much time elbowing each other out of the way, pulling each other down…can we, for a second, love ourselves and say, ‘I do not need all of these magazines to tell me how to lose the weight or how should I starve because I wanna please a man?'” the 35-year-old actress encouraged.

Chopra prompts us to ask ourselves why we, as women, feel the need to alter our bodies and filter the photos of ourselves that we post to social media all to adhere to certain standards of beauty, and why men don’t feel this same pressure. It’s because women have “always been treated as second-class citizens,” she says.

Every time that you look at yourself and criticize your image, Chopra instructs, “Start with just recognizing what you’re doing. That’s called self-hate, self-doubt, you’re berating yourself. I mean, we have enough people doing that to us anyway. Why do we need to do it to ourselves? Love yourself, ladies. You’re your best friend.”
