‘Strong Black Leads,’ a Movement at Netflix

Netflix is highlighting black actors, actresses, and creators to highlight the importance of Blacks in the industry.

DEAR WHITE PEOPLE (Netflix)

47 actors and directors from Netflix shows and documentaries came together to create A Great Day in Hollywood inspired by the 1958 A Great Day in Harlem. The video featured a diverse group from more than 20 Netflix shows and movies.

As well as equal and accurate representation; from age diversity to the representation of the LGBT community in film. It is important that black and brown people are represented in a positive light in the film industry as well as the importance of providing equal opportunity.

The powerful video is narrated by Caleb McLaughlin from Stranger Things, a Netflix original. It is reported the video was shot in one take after the singing of the black national anthem, ‘Lift Every Voice and Sing’.
