Celebrities Respond to Melania Trump’s Offensive Fashion Statement

On Thursday, June 21st, the FLOTUS was seen on her way to visit immigrant children while donning a jacket emblazoned with the words, “I really don’t care, do u?”

Of course, this incident comes amidst massive controversy over the Trump administration’s recently instated “zero-tolerance” immigration policy that definitively separates families who cross the border illegally, which the President then moved to reverse shortly thereafter. His response to the coat-controversy, however, was less of a pleasant surprise. “I REALLY DON’T CARE, DO U?’ written on the back of Melania’s jacket, refers to the Fake News Media. Melania has learned how dishonest they are, and she truly no longer cares!” Trump justified, but Hollywood was not so easily convinced.

“People that are supposedly on her side let her get on a plane with a jacket that read ‘I really don’t care, do you?’ For the record, we do,” Stephen Colbert stated in the open of The Late Show.

Fellow late-night host Chelsea Handler also blasted the first lady and those who are defending her.

Lastly, Seinfeld star Julia Louis-Dreyfus had some quick, choice words about the ordeal.

Countless other Twitter users, famous or not, responded similarly to Melania’s wardrobe misstep. As Colbert noted on his show, the FLOTUS’ spokesperson Stephanie Grisham commented, “It’s just a jacket… there was no hidden message,” but to many, the message was clear–in plain, white-writing.
