‘Set It Up’ Is The Rom-Com Revival We Needed
The 2000’s was the prime time for one of the most loved movie genres of all time, the romantic comedy.
In recent years we have lost sight of any rom-com in theatres, until now. Thanks to Netflix and the release of their freshest romantic comedy yet, Set It Up, and it has people buzzing everywhere.
Lucy Liu and Taye Diggs play overworking professionals who just can’t seem to catch a break for their own personal happiness, which reflects onto their poor overworked assistants, Glen Powell, you may remember him from Scream Queens, and Zoey Deutch. In typical rom-com fashion, these assistants aim to set their bosses up in a very Parent Trap style.
Of course, without giving away too much, more than one romance blossoms as a result of the original setup.
Set It Up gives fans just enough cheesy rom-com action, without going overboard, making it one of the hottest movies of the summer.
