Sophia Bush’s Fashion Statement to End Gun Violence

Sophia Bush rocked a slicked back ponytail and a Levi’s all-denim ensemble in a recent polaroid-series Instagram post.

Though she looked glamorous as usual, her caption explained that the bold patent red pocket on her top stood for so much more than a fashion statement. The capsule collection designed by Karla Welch is partnered with Everytown, a charity focused on ending gun violence in America. Everytown is four million strong, and their mission is to start conversations about building safer communities and fighting for change. They want to incite change in legislation while still respecting the Second Amendment. Their stances include universal background checks, strengthening penalties for gun trafficking, and supports gun safety technology.

In light of the tragic school shooting in Santa Fe, Sophia uses the post to speak out about the need to put sensible gun laws in place to protect both gun owners and kids. The non-profit is dedicated to educating both citizens and policy makers alike with statistics about gun violence, to ensure that these senseless tragedies do not keep happening. Sophia herself is a gun owner, but has no issues with stricter gun laws in order to ensure the safety of the public.

She has never been one to shy away from activism, winning the Do Something Twitter award following the Deepwater Horizon spill and being an advocate for the Pencils of Promise organization. Standing up for what she believes in, she hopes that her latest fashion statement catches attention and raises awareness about this cause.
