Sam Smith Drops Music Video for “Pray”

Sam Smith releases a new music video for “Pray” featuring Logic that is as extravagant as Smith’s voice.

The video for the remixed version of “Pray” includes intricate, mansion-like rooms with chandeliers and dramatic dancers that is well suited with Smith’s large, soulful voice and Logic’s thoughtful verses. The director of the video, Joe Connor, filmed in a villa in Italy which explains the artful setting.

The song carries a lot of weight for the rapper as well, as Logic initially wrote that remix was “The most important feature I’ve ever done. Writing from the perspective of someone who feels unwanted and unaccepted.”

The video debuted after Smith gave us a few teasers, saying the video was “So exciting to me, and different to anything I’ve done before.”

The single comes off of Smith’s second album The Thrill of It All. It is the third single, coming after “Too Good at Goodbyes” and “One Last Song.” Smith is getting ready for a North American tour on June 18th until September, where he will play in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.
