John Oliver jokingly said “goodbye forever” after an Australian animal hospital named its new koala chlamydia ward after him.

The Last Week Tonight host left his fans with a lot of questions after finishing a segment on Sunday night in which he declared he was finished with the show after reaching his only goal to receive a “koala chlamydia ward.”

While it might seem odd to have such an achievement, it comes after actor Russell Crowe upstaged Oliver by donating $7,000.

The money Crowe donated came from what Oliver paid for a jockstrap for Cinderella Man that Crowe starred in, which was then donated by Oliver to the only Blockbuster video store left in the US.

Crowe, being touched by this gesture, tweeted a video from the Irwins presenting The John Oliver Koala Chlamydia Ward at the Australia Zoo.

It was after this clip that Oliver announces that he is “done.” He packs up his belongings and the crew begins to tear down the set. Even with the jokes and pranks between Crowe and Oliver, the host’s goodbye seems so genuine that fans are left wondering what is true. We can assume that Oliver is only joking around as no one else as made an official statement, including HBO.
