Issa Rae Hosts This Year’s CFDA Fashion Awards
Star of HBO’s Insecure, Issa Rae, will be hosting the CFDA Fashion Awards, June 4th, at the Brooklyn Museum.
Who better to host an award show that acknowledges pure creativity and emerging talent than the incredibly gifted, rising star and actress, Issa Rae?
Issa first became recognized for her hit web series, The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl, and then rose to fame as actress, writer, and creator of the tv series, Insecure. Not only is Issa Rae a major boss lady, but she has impeccable style!
This year’s CFDA Fashion Awards will be in partnership with Swarovski for the 17th year. Awards for Womenswear, Menswear, Accessory Designer of the Year, the unified Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent, and much more will be presented to only the most outstanding fashion powerhouses.
Last year, Raf Simons, the Chief Creative Officer of Calvin Klein, took home two CFDA Fashion Awards for Womenswear Designer and Menswear Designer. Accredited singer/songwriter, Janelle Monáe, also received an award, for Directors’ Tribute. Kenneth Cole was presented with the CFDA Award for Positive Change.
