The ‘Southern Charm’ Girl Gang We Never Knew We Needed
Bravo’s Southern Charm is back in full swing with a first episode filled with surprises.
Season 5 of Bravo’s Southern Charm is off to a female empowered start. Episode 1 entitled “The Break-up Bunch” highlights a new life for many women in the show including cast members, Kathryn Calhoun Dennis and Chelsea Meissner.
The season starts with breakups between Chelsea and Austen Kroll, Craig Conover, and Naomi Olindo, as well as a broken off engagement with a friend of the show, Danni Baird and Todd Balder. The notorious playboy turned new father, Thomas Ravenel finds himself funding a new girlfriend, Ashley Jacobs, who had moved from Los Angeles to Charleston to be with him.
Tensions are clearly high at this point in Charleston, making for one great episode. Before a birthday party for Shep Rose, the women gather together to set the record straight on their past relationships and share their new strides as newly single women.
During the final scenes of this first episode, the women are seen clinking their wine glasses together praising one another for finally coming together and supporting one another. This foreshadows what could potentially be Southern Charm’s most diverse season yet.
