Crazy Rich Asians Is the Romantic Comedy We Need

Hollywood’s lack of diversity has been an issue for some time and we’ve seen more movies incorporating people of color.

A teaser trailer for the film Crazy Rich Asians is the first of its kind to hit theaters in Hollywood.  It has a predominantly Asian cast and it has comedian Awkwafina to provide lots of laughs.

The movie is based on the 2013 novel of the same name written by Kevin Kwain. It focuses on a rich family in Singapore and how an Asian American woman, Rachel Chu, comes to fall for “the Prince William of Asia,” as she affectionately describes him in the trailer.

Rachel is played by Constance Wu, who is known for her work on the series Fresh Off the Boat. And her comedic best friend is none other than the hilarious Awkwafina commonly known for being on MTV’s Girl Code and has an upcoming movie with an all-star cast, Ocean’s 8. The leading man is played by Henry Golding and we cannot wait to see this cast on the big screen this summer. Catch the official trailer Monday, April 23rd.
