Goodbye, Fifth Harmony. Hello, Normani.

The former member of Fifth Harmony revealed in an interview with Beats 1 that she is on a mission with her solo debut.

After a six-year run with the fiercest girl group we’ve seen in years, Normani said, “Honestly, I feel like I’ve experienced a lot in the last six years, so I feel like just getting all of that out.”

She added, “Whatever comes to mind, whatever I’m going through at the moment, I just want this to be an album that completely represents who Normani is, and for some people, it may be the first time.”

After her first solo collaboration with Khalid on their Love, Simon track “Love Lies,” she is looking out for more collaborators.

“I’m in the beginning stages, still,” she shares. “I’ve gotten the chance to work with The Stereotypes, I’m going to be in with the Monsters and the Strangerz, Sarah Aarons, Sailor Heart, Victoria Monét, Ester [Dean] — I’m getting in with her very soon, too, so I’m excited.”

After Camila Cabello’s decision to leave Fifth Harmony in December of 2016, Normani will be the first to talk about a solo album.
