Our Neighbor Mister Rogers Is Getting a Movie

(Focus Features)

You remember him, don’t you?

The man behind Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood has inspired a documentary designed to make you cry. As though we needed more reasons to head out to the theaters this summer, Focus Features released their trailer for their film about Fred Rogers, Won’t You Be My Neighbor?

The movie will be directed by Oscar winner Morgan Neville, for 20 Feet from Stardom, draws upon archival footage and never-before-seen clips of the famed TV star. Shedding light on his legacy, Neville is set to follow his rise to success and mission while on top. Contributing to his legacy of making friends and including others, the television host that won over hearts of children nationwide will make his way to the big screen posthumously after his death in 2003.

The film debuted at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and will hit theaters this summer. Don’t forget the tissues.
