Welcome to Your (Imaginary) Flight to Wakanda

(Disney/Marvel Studios)

Pack your bags because we’re headed to Wakanda.

Shortly after Black Panther’s release, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport tweeted a photo announcing flights to the destination of Wakanda. Wakanda, the fictional African nation in which the Black Panther calls home, is a place of beauty and high technological advancements. The photo showed a boarding flight to Wakanda for 7:30 pm with the caption, “The bags are packed #WakandaForever.”

As fans became engaged with the joke, more information about the flight became available. The airport informed fans that the flight came with “the fastest Wi-Fi Nation wide” and that at arrival “purple power flowers” are placed on your neck. When it comes to food and drinks, the airport responded with African inspired food and drinks, such as “Zobo drink or bissap” and “sorghum and okra.”

Black Panther star Lupita Nyong’o also got in on the fun by asking about in-flight entertainment. The airport kindly informed that in addition to movies there would be music with songs like “Killmonger Me Softly.”

Unfortunately, we can currently only experience the fictional nation through movie magic. For now, we’re glad for that dream flight the Atlanta Airport has us covered.

Wakanda Forever.
