Mulan’s Live-Action Reboot Is Pushed Back
Disney has announced it will push back its iconic film by more than a year.
Scheduled to hit theaters on November 2 of this year, the release has been moved to March 27, 2020, as reported by Variety on Wednesday. With little known about this project, we are curious as to why its production appears to need more time, especially considering the rumors.
In March of last year, the film’s director Niki Caro, of The Zookeeper’s Wife, said in an interview published by Moviefone, “From what I understand, no songs right now, much to the horror of my children.” Now, one can only recall the terror this simple statement brought upon the realm of Twitter.
was hype for the new mulan movie until I found out there would be no music. and no li shang. now i’m depressed.

If @Disney doesn’t put music in #Mulan I swear I won’t watch it….. How can you ruin one of the best with no music?!

As of last November, the film is set to feature Chinese singer-actress, Liu Yifei, also known as Crystal Liu. It appears to be one of Disney’s many projects in the works being shifted around, given its removal of Anna Kendrick’s Noelle and earlier launch date for Avengers: Infinity War.
