How to Do Spring Break on a Budget

Spring break is one of the best times for students.

The weather is starting to get warmer, the semester is almost over, and you get an entire week off from homework and tests. The downside to spring break in college is the cost. You are already struggling to balance school with a job that does not pay well and also trying to have a social life.

Knowing the best days and times to get plane tickets is the most important thing. The best time to buy plane tickets is six weeks out and make sure to buy them on Tuesdays at 3. This helps make sure you get a good deal. It may sound odd, but it works.

Groupon has a lot of travel deals. Always check there first to see what type of all-inclusive deals they have going on. If flying is more expensive, then get a group of people together that you can stand to be in a car for a long period of time, split the cost of gas and just drive. Sometimes driving is better anyway because you can stop along the way and see the sites.

Most of the time when you rent a place for a vacation the cost is not per person. So you can get a big vacation house on the beach and split it with your friends to lower the cost of the trip. Once you are there, go grocery shopping so you are not spending a lot on every meal and instead use that extra money to go do all the touristy things that are around you.

Spring break does not have to be expensive; you just have to look for the deals.
