Marvel Moves Release Date for Avengers: Infinity War

(Disney/Marvel Studios)

It looks like we’re getting Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War earlier than expected.

After an engaging exchange between the Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr. and Marvel Studios on Twitter, the upcoming film got a new release date. The film, which had an original release date of May 4, has now been moved to April 27. This would move forward the release one full week.

The fun began when Robert Downey, Jr. and Marvel started an exchange about the pre-jitters and excitement for the upcoming film. Downey asked to see the film early with Marvel responding, “Anything for you, Mr. Stark! How’s April 27?” The Iron Man actor accepted the date. He went on to clarify that he meant not only himself, but for his friends and the entire world. At the request of Downey Jr., Marvel made the move to release the superhero-packed movie a week prior than scheduled.

Avengers: Infinity War is set to feature most of the characters that have been introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This would include characters from the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the recent Black Panther. The kick-off to the summer box office (which normally starts the first weekend of May) will also get an earlier start due to the release date move.

Let’s thank Tony Stark for an earlier start to summer.
