Missguided Changed the Look of Their Mannequins to Look Realistic + Promote Body Diversity

(Missguided)

Missguided is a fast fashion retailer based in the UK that is changing the way fashion is advertised.

The fashion brand stopped retouching their photos to encourage a better body image. They have now changed the way that their mannequins look. The mannequins have stretch marks, freckles and vitiligo to show more of a realistic body image. These mannequins were designed with the help of makeup artists and they are a part of the company’s #makeyourmark campaign. This campaign encourages people to embrace their flaws.

Instead of the usual mannequin that shows an unrealistic and unhealthy body type, these show how everyone is different but still beautiful. There has been nothing but positive feedback from people on the decision to stop retouching photos and changing the way that the mannequins look. This is such a great move on Missguided’s part and more stores should start to take notice of the overwhelmingly positive feedback and join the movement.
