The BAFTA Awards will have attendees wearing all black in support of the Time’s Up movement.

This past award season has been focused on providing support to the Times Up and #MeToo movements. Celebrities who have attended these events have shown their support for the movements by dressing in some way. At the Grammy’s the other night artists wore a white rose and at the Golden Globes actors and actresses wore black. Many celebrities have addressed the issues of sexual assault within the entertainment industry either on the red carpet or during their acceptance speeches. At the Golden Globes almost every winner of an award brought up the issues within the industry regarding women’s equality.

The Time’s Up is a movement against sexual harassment founded on January 1, 2018 by Hollywood celebrities in response to the Weinstein effect and #MeToo, which was a social media campaign that allowed women and men to speak out about their personal experiences with sexual assault. These award shows have been a platform for large names in the industry to speak out against the mistreatment of women and to make a change.
