The actress calls out Franco for publicly showing support for the movement but was then accused of sexual misconduct by five women.

Scarlett gave a stirring speech at the Women’s March on Saturday Jan. 20 in Los Angeles about the abuse of power that occurs within the workplace and how she has found her own voice in her own experience. Johansson’s speech also consisted of questioning the motives of Franco when he participated in the initiative of the Time’s Up movement and showed immense support during the Golden Globes.

“How could a person publicly stand by an organization that helps to provide support for victims of sexual assault while privately preying on people who have no power?” stated Johansson, in front of over 500,000 attendees.

She then added, “I want my pin back, by the way.”

Johansson’s rep confirmed that those words were meant for The Disaster Artist actor/director.

Johansson, who is also one of the original members of the Time’s Up movement, also mentioned her own experiences of being in the entertainment industry as a young woman and finding her voice to speak up and speak out.

“Suddenly I was 19 again and I began to remember all the men who had taken advantage of the fact that I was a young woman who didn’t yet have the tools to say ‘no’ or understand the value of my own self-worth,” Johansson said. “I had many relationships both personal and professional where the power dynamic was so off that I had to create a narrative that I was a cool girl who could hang in and hang out, and that sometimes meant compromising what felt right for me.”

Johansson’s bravery and ability to speak up has inspired many of us to take a stand against such injustice that occurs in our society.
