Get Ready to See Trevor Jackson on the Big Screen
Deadline broke the news that our Grown-ish crush is set to be in the remake of Sony’s Superfly.
Jackson is confirmed to star in the film as Youngblood Priest. If you’re not familiar with the original, it’s essentially a Blaxploitation film from 1972. It’s about Jackson’s character who is a cocaine dealer trying to quit the drug business. Pretty serious and grown-up stuff compared to what we’re used to seeing him in.
It’s Jackson’s first starring role in a major motion picture and we couldn’t be more excited for him. Another familiar face set to star alongside Jackson is Jason Mitchell who notably played Eazy-E in the film Straight Outta Compton. The official release date has yet to be known but you should definitely get ready see this film when it hits theaters.
