On Thursday night, Gal Gadot accepted the #SeeHer Award at the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards.

The #SeeHer award honors actresses for their actual portrayal of women on and off the screen. Wonder Woman director, Patty Jenkins, presented the award to Gadot, stating that, “In [Gadot’s] hands, Wonder Woman came back to life in all of her glory and is inspiring the world again.”

Gadot accepted the award with an inspiring speech that continued the spirit of the Time Up’s movement. The actress states that when asked to describe her dream role, it was one of a strong and independent woman with the irony that she was later cast as Wonder Woman. It was a role that had all of the qualities that Gadot had looked for, including being a real woman.

Gadot wants to share her award with the men and women of the current movement “and [she] promise, my commitment to all of you is that I will never be silenced. And we will continue to band together to make strides uniting for equality.”

In its first year, Viola Davis received the award at the 2017 Critics’ Choice Awards.

On her official Twitter, Gadot thanked Critics’ Choice for also recognizing Wonder Women as Best Action Movie. The film also won awards for best visual effects and costume design.

Congratulations to “our real Wonder Woman”, Gal Gadot.
