The former employee is claiming that the retail store cleaned up, repackaged, and resold used products that had been returned to them. She posted about this on social media and warned makeup shoppers to be careful about the products they buy from Ulta Beauty. Once the Twitter thread went viral more employees, both current and former, came forward from all over the place to talk about how the same practices were happening at other stores as well. It turns out that this is a common problem, but not because the company wants it to happen.

The company issued a statement very quickly after the thread went viral stating that they do not allow the resale of any items that have been open or used. This seems to be an ongoing issue within the management at the retail stores. Ulta Beauty said they are currently investigating these claims. Hats off to the former employee to come forward and speak up about what is going on behind the scenes at her former workplace. This will help fix a broken system and make sure that practices are put in place to make sure that this never happens again.
