America Ferrara + Natalie Portman Support Golden Globes in Black
Celebrities wore all black to the award show in protest against sexual harassment in Hollywood.
America Ferrara and Natalie Portman are two of the many celebrities who are wearing all black gowns in response to the many sexual allegations made within the history. The Globes are less of a ceremony and more of a social gathering. Winners are expected to use their speech to rail against the systemic sexism and silence that allowed such behavior of powerful men within the industry. Many actresses are walking the carpet with women rights activists. Michelle Williams is walking with Tarana Burke, creator of the #MeToo campaign, tennis superstar and LGBTQIA activist Billie Jean King will walk with her on-screen self Emma Stone, workers rights activist Monica Ramirez is walking with Laura Dern, and many more.
This year’s award show will be a time to show support to the victims of these events.
