‘Black Panther’ Inspired Jewelry and Accessories

Marvel has officially announced a line of jewelry and accessories with featured styles seen in the upcoming movie.
The designer of the line is Douriean Fletcher, an artist focused on creating unique wearable art pieces. Fletcher’s inspiration comes from her travels and studies in South Africa. Those studies led to a passion to create wearable art that reflected the stories and communities of women from different cultures.
Her career in the film industry began when her art was discovered by actress, C.C.H. Pounder and well-known costume designer, Ruth E. Carter (who is also the costume designer of Black Panther).
The adornments seen in this line are created through the use of raw materials, gilded 18K, and 24K gold metals. Her work features bold abstract shapes in the process to create unique pieces that showcase the beauty and express the originality of the individual.
Douriean’s work has also been seen in shows such as NCIS: New Orleans and the re-imagined Root mini-series. Her work is also expected to be featured in the upcoming movie Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War.
