The Miss America Pageant Organization asks former winners to help recruit new leaders.

Following the recent email scandal that resulted in the resignation of the executive director, Sam Haskel, the president of the organization, Josh Randle, and other board members, the emails that were sent degraded the women from appearance and intelligence to their normal lives.

The Board of Directors stated, “The Board invited Former Miss Americas and State Executive Directors to name two individuals each to a Search Committee seeking a new leadership structure and respective names. In addition, the Board will invite a former state titleholder to the committee. These five individuals and two members of the Board will begin their exhaustive search in a matter of days.”

The Miss America Pageant is built upon strong and intelligent women who stand up for what they believe in. For former winners and state titleholders to be in the position to elect the new board members is an honor to have. From the power taken right out of their hands when the emails were released, these strong women have now gained that power back.
