Ayrton and Alex Little attend T.M. Landry College Preparatory in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.

The school is known for college acceptance rates being at 100%, and having graduating classes a small as eight students. The Little brothers are just two members of the school’s 2018 class.

It is a tradition at the school for students to open their college decision letters in front of their fellow classmates and staff. First came Alex Little, 18, who was accepted into Stanford University. Last year, the prestigious university accepted only 4.8% of applicants.

It’s still unreal. #Stanford #Stanford2022

Next came Ayrton, 16, who has dreamed of attending Harvard his entire life. The younger brother of Alex told NBC, “I didn’t know how I was going to go but I knew I was going to go.”

Can’t believe I got accepted to Harvard at 16 😭😭😭 #harvard #harvard2022

“I told him his acceptance day, not mine, was the best day of my life,” Alex said. Harvard’s 2016 acceptance rate sat at 5.4%.

The success these two boys found is moving, considering what they and their mother have been through. The single mother, who has since found a stable job, would sell baked goods just to pay for her sons’ school tuition.

Alex went on to say, “She tells us this all the time: No matter how tough things were, whatever bills weren’t getting paid, whatever lights might be cut off, I knew that they were always working and I knew that I’d come home to good grades and good report cards and kids who were striving in school.”

We are so excited for these two young men as they take on the next chapter of their lives. Congratulations!
