On Giving Tuesday, the late night show host continued with his commitment to fighting AIDS with his third annual (RED) Shopathon.

It was a star-studded event for sure, as Kimmel invited (RED) co-founder Bono of U2, Kristen Bell, and other to raise money and awareness for the cause.

However, the greatest appearance made last week would have been Obama and his particularly persuasive “bargaining” skills to get the public involved in the battle against this disease.

President Barack Obama on the Fight Against AIDS

President Barack Obama sent a special message for our RED show. He talks about the fight against AIDS and the great progress that has been made towards getting rid of the disease once and for all.

From offering up flights on the famous Air Force One to top secret information on aliens that he keeps in his desk drawer, Obama is willing to go to any lengths to get American involved in the efforts against AIDS (even if he technically doesn’t have these powers anymore as a regular American citizen).

Obama ends the lighthearted skit on a hopeful note, stating, “When we reject cynicism and pessimism in favor of a relentless optimism that says ‘however long it takes, however lonely the fight,’ each of us can make a difference. That’s what I believe.
