Chance, whose real name is Chancelor Jonathan Bennett, said whenever he is in the city every Tuesday night his mother will host a Taco Tuesday. He then goes on to mention that his father ran Obama’s campaign for congressman and when he was eight years old, he stopped by their house when he was on a campaign trail. He mentions Chance’s real name, telling him it translates to “king.” Obama then gives him advice that he still will not follow. He told him to sell his music.

He is known for not selling his music and providing it to the world for free-not even Barack Obama would convince him not to do so. When asked why not Chance says he gets as much artistic freedom as he wants and can give the people what they want even if they could not afford it.
