Drake Originally Turned Down the “Aston Martin Music” Beat Before Rick Ross Joined

He accidentally looked over this beat before luckily hearing it once again.

Rick Ross’s “Aston Martin Music” spent 20 weeks on the top charts and gained major success with his 2010 album Teflon Don going gold. Drake was a huge feature on this song, but this almost did not happen. In a recent interview with J.U.S.T.I.C.E League, the song’s producer, he mentioned that Drake almost skipped out on this song. The song was first shopped around to drake and then other artists. It finally landed with Rick Ross, Chrisette Michelle, and Dj Khaled. Drake heard this song and was immediately ready to hop on it. J.U.S.T.I.C.E League describes this interaction as he states: “Then when Drake got it, he text me and was like, ‘Yo! Why didn’t you send me this beat?!’ I was like, ‘My man, that was in the first set of beats I sent you.’” The song had concerns is if would be able to make it big on radio and it surely became a smash hit.

We are happy Drake went on to master this feature and eventually take it under his own wing to create “Paris Morton Music.”
