Missguided Will No Longer Airbrush Models’ Images
They are taking a step towards body positivity.
The U.K. brand Missguided will no longer be airbrushing it’s models. People have become accustomed to this artificial view of women’s bodies and now Missguided is deciding to reject that. On its website, you can now see models showcasing their stretch marks, cellulite, and many other features that are usually wiped away. The head of the brand Samantha Helligso said in a statement, “By showing imagery that’s real and authentic, we want to show it’s more than okay to be yourself. All you have is what you’ve got, so own it every day.”
This is a great advancement for the company and making this brand as relatable to its customers as possible. This also serves as a way to make the models feel more comfortable in their bodies knowing all of their features are accepted. Providing another way for people to feel included is perfect especially for a brand marketed towards young women.
