Variety broke the story, as they received news of Netflix and Media Rights Capital currently throwing around multiple ideas for the spinoff series. No one from either company has commented on this recent breaking news.

The last comment Netflix released with the production company stated, “In response to last night’s revelations, executives from both of our companies arrived in Baltimore this afternoon to meet with our cast and crew to ensure that they continue to feel safe and supported. As previously scheduled, Kevin Spacey is not working on set at this time.”

Another spokesperson for Netflix has said that the show’s final season, which will air in 2018, had nothing to do with Spacey’s scandal- they had already agreed upon the final season months beforehand.

In attempts to save his own image, Spacey used the allegations as an opportunity to come out as gay. To his misfortune, the stunt was seen as pathetic and clearly a plan to save face by many.
